While purchasing a thermometer, it is very important to check that the readings are accurate, they show precise indoor and outdoor temperature and pressure details, the display of information on the LCD screen is clear and simple for any layman to understand the information it portrays.
An outdoor thermometer is a scientific device used to measure outdoor temperature without stepping out from the comfort of your home. There are different kinds of thermometers- digital, glass, etc. Below are listed 3 best selling outdoor thermometers in the market.
LCD interface
La Crosse has introduced state of the art weather station with wireless transmission. The interface is bright and big with large digits making it visible to the naked eye from afar. It also has animated weather icons which depict sunny skies, partly sunny, cloudy, rainy, stormy and snowy. It provides accurate weather forecast information with audible alerts.
Atomic self- setting date and time and timely indicators
This forecast station has its own date and time self-setting feature which displays accurate information. You can adjust the backlight features as per your convenience. It also will let out timely alerts either for any rise or drop in temperature, battery run out, etc. For basic charging, you can use a 5.0V AC adapter. Mainly this device needs 3 AAA Alkaline batteries for a backup charge. These will have to be purchased separately.
Accurate temperature reading display
This device reads indoor/outdoor temperature (f/c) & humidity (%RH) range. Default indoor humidity range in the weather station is 19% tp 97 % RH and the Outdoor humidity range setting is 19% to 97% RH. Temperature Range indoors is set to 32 F to 122 F (0 C to 50 C). In regions where the Outdoor Temperature falls in the range of -40 F to 140 F (-40 C to 60 C) Lithium batteries need to be used in the outdoor sensor. If the temperature is -20 F (-29 C), Alkaline batteries will have to be used.
Wireless Transmission with precise readings
The outdoor sensor needs to be placed at least 300 ft from the weather station. The temperature information is accurate and it displays minimum and maximum values on the interface. It also read outdoor heat levels and dew point. Hence the sensor should not be kept under direct sunlight as then it can heat up and read high outdoor temperature.
LCD Display
Oria has introduced an indoor-outdoor thermometer which has 3 wireless Sensors and measures temperature, humidity accurately. The LCD The interface has a bright backlight whose settings can be adjusted and the Numbers displayed are quite large thus making it’s reading easy. You can also change the settings of the alarm, backlight, and calendar.
3 wireless sensors
The best part of this thermometer is that it comes with 3 wireless sensors. It gives information about 4 areas simultaneously- indoor-outdoor temperature and humidity. These sensors have a 2*AAA Battery which has to be purchased separately. They can be placed anywhere in the house-bedroom, wine cellar, kitchen, etc. The weather station needs 3*AAA battery. When a low battery charge icon blinks, a change of battery is needed.
Easy Usage
It can be wall mounted or placed on the desk. The sensor has to be at least 328 ft away from the weather station. You can switch the weather settings from Celsius to Fahrenheit. And it also has a button of minimum and maximum values. Any high temperature, the alarm will be set off which is very loud and audible.
Animated functionality
When the temperature or humidity changes, LCD display has animated expression icons which change accordingly. The default readings of this device are Indoor temperature (0 – 60℃); Outdoor temperature (-40 – 60℃); Humidity (10% – 99%).
LCD Interface
ThermoPro TP65 is a wireless digital thermometer measuring indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity levels. It comes with 3 wireless sensors, 1 Base Station Unit (Receiver). 1 Remote Sensor (Transmitter). The LCD touchscreen displays large digits which are easily noticeable from a distance. It has a blue backlight thus making it easier to even read in the dark.
Easy Usage
It is very simple to use. The thermometer updates its frequency every 30 seconds thus keeping the user updated with changes in the temperature indoors and outdoors. Its wireless sensors can be mounted on the wall or kept on a tabletop or even attach itself as a magnet as it has a magnetic back touch. The screen displays icons for humidity and temperature and is very user-friendly in nature with its touchscreen interface.
Accuracy
The wireless hygrometer displays readings in Celsius and Fahrenheit and gives current temperature and humidity measurements. The receiver displays information from all 3 sensors installed by the user. The remote sensor should be kept in a shady area else under extreme heat its readings might depict high temperature. The temperature gauge not only displays the current 24 hours temperature readings but also will display the reading inside your house too. The transmission is up to 200 ft and this device uses 4 AAA batteries.
Conclusion
It is very useful to have an outdoor and indoor thermometer device at home. These thermometers are cost-friendly, user-friendly and are designed in a way that helps the user know the climate in the surrounding areas of his vicinity.
I'm the research analyzer and data interpretation here at Weather Station Lab. I test various weather stations and share my conclusion here. Since my childhood, I had a passion towards weather and I'm always fascinated by that. Eventually, I pursued Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science from the University of Arizona. I hope my contribution will help you to know more about weather stations. Read more about us, here
